Golden yellow color. Powerful, rich nose with hints of ripe grapes, honey and a fine woodiness. Attractive aromatic density with autumnal nuances. On the palate, it is a ripe and full-bodied wine. The initially fruity and woody aromas give way to toasted almond notes. A salivating acidity accompanies the flavors and gives fullness and liveliness to this wine.
Can be served and enjoyed simply as an aperitif with foie gras toasts. Unsurprisingly, it has a natural affinity with noble and fine-textured fish or meat, which it can match without overpowering. It will also go wonderfully with all shellfish, grilled lobster, crawfish, or king prawns in sauce.
Best served at a temperature from 12° to 14°C.
Can be kept in the cellar for 8 years.
100% Chardonnay.
Hand-picking, grape sorting, pneumatic pressing then light settling before slow fermentation in oak barrels with regular stirring, and ageing in oak barrels for 15 months.
The village of Meursault is situated in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. Together with the villages of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, it represents the best in Chardonnay. The vineyard stretches over the gentle slopes of this hillside which allows the vines to benefit from the best exposure to the sun. The soil of Meursault is composed of abundant white marl and limestone. The vineyard covers 400 hectares of which 380 hectares are planted with Chardonnay.
